Jonathan Morrison is the Architecture Correspondent of The Times, where he has been employed for eighteen years, and has also written extensively on the built environment for The Guardian, the Evening Standard and a variety of magazines. He is a regular contributor to Radio 4 and Times Radio. How to Build a Space Station

Jonathan Morrison

As humanity looks beyond Earth to the Moon and Mars, space architecture takes centre stage. The Times correspondent Jonathan Morrison explores how we design for life off-world – from Soviet stations to the ISS and future lunar bases – tracing their roots in sci-fi and extreme Earth habitats.

With insights from astronauts, engineers, and space pioneers, he asks: how can we not just survive, but thrive, in space?
